The INTOSAI Strategic Development Plan: all initiatives in full swing

The INTOSAI Strategic Development Plan for the period 2025–2028 defines five ambitious initiatives to ensure that INTOSAI’s professional pronouncements are clear, accessible, relevant, robust and future-proof. In early 2025 the respective project groups have started their work with great drive and commitment.

INTOSAI’s vision for the INTOSAI Framework of Professional Pronouncements (IFPP) is “to enhance the understandability and the recognition of the INTOSAI professional pronouncements both with SAIs and with external stakeholders and thereby encourage increased and consistent application of the ISSAIs leading to a global improvement in audit quality”.

To pursue this vision, INTOSAI – namely Goal 1 and its contributing bodies – have defined the following five initiatives in the Strategic Development Plan 2025–2028:

  • The ‘T’ Initiative: developing a clear and consistent terminology for the IFPP.
  • The ‘I’ Initiative: ensuring the clarity of the ISSAIs based on the results of the ‘T’ initiative.
  • The ‘P’ Initiative: identifying and analysing gaps and inconsistencies in the INTOSAI Principles.
  • The ‘G’ Initiative: developing a more effective approach to and a structured communication around guidance documents.
  • The ‘A’ Initiative: improving the accessibility to the pronouncements by making use of the opportunities provided by digitalization.

The beginning of 2025 was dedicated to the creation and composition of the respective project groups to ensure a successful launch of the SDP. We are now happy to announce that all initiatives envisaged in the SDP are in full swing.

Please find more details about the projects groups, their operational and leadership/oversight structures as well as the objectives and timelines in this webpage created by the Forum of INTOSAI Professional Pronouncements (FIPP), which will be responsible for approving the project groups’ work in the various stages of the due process for the IFPP. Should you have any questions regarding the work processes, please do not hesitate to contact the FIPP: Ms Lise Margarethe Hansen LSH(AT)riksrevisjonen.no
