SDG coordination meeting in Vienna

In its capacity as the SDG coordination and information platform within INTOSAI, the INTOSAI General Secretariat organized an SDG coordination meeting in Vienna on 13 February 2020.

The coordination meeting was attended by representatives of the most important global INTOSAI players involved in the SDG implementation process (General Secretariat, INTOSAI Chair, Chairs of the Goal Committees, IDI, Task Force on Strategic Planning, Working Group on SDGs and Key Sustainable Indicators, Working Group on Environmental Auditing as well as the Performance Audit Subcommittee).

The meeting focused on

  • an exchange about past and current activities of the different players involved in the SDG implementation process,
  • a brainstorming on the central questions arising from the experiences made to date, such as the definition of an "SDG audit", and
  • a discussion about the most important future challenges in the SDG implementation process, such as the review of the impact of SDG audits.

The central outcome of the meeting was an action plan elaborated by the participants, which contains a list of planned actions until the next INCOSAI in 2022.
